In short

The site requires no account or sign-up to play, and uses no advertising cookies or audience-measurement tools. An optional account lets you save your progress online.

Data stored on your device

Your settings, records, daily quiz streak and progress in the games are stored in your browser's local storage. Without an account, this data stays on your device and is never sent to us. You can erase it at any time by deleting the site's data in your browser.

Optional account

If you sign in, with Google or through a link sent by email, we receive your email address and, with Google, your name and profile picture. Your progress (learned items, records, daily quiz streak, settings) is then saved online so you can find it on all your devices. This data is hosted by our provider Supabase, Inc., under the safeguards provided by the GDPR. Legal basis: performance of the service you request by signing in.

You can erase your online progress at any time from your account menu ("Erase my online progress"). You can also delete your account entirely from the same menu ("Delete my account"): your account, profile and online progress are erased immediately. If anything goes wrong, write to contact@culturette.fr.

Technical data

Like any website, the host, Vercel Inc., receives your IP address and technical information to display the pages and keep the service secure. Vercel is an American company: this data may be processed outside the European Union, under the safeguards provided by the GDPR.

Flag images are loaded from flagcdn.com, which also receives your IP address in order to send them to you.

Financial support

If you choose to support Culturette, payment takes place on a secure Stripe page (Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., Ireland). Stripe processes your payment data to carry out the transaction and send you a receipt. We only receive the amount, your email address and the name given at payment, kept for our accounting obligations. We never have access to your bank details.

Newsletter

If you sign up for the morning question, your email address is kept by our mailing provider ([to be completed]) solely to send you these emails. Legal basis: your consent. You can unsubscribe at any time via the link in every email.

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can request access to, correction of or deletion of your data by writing to contact@culturette.fr. You can also lodge a complaint with the Belgian Data Protection Authority, rue de la Presse 35, 1000 Brussels (autoriteprotectiondonnees.be).
